Space@Mine

Eve Bugler

From sheds and gardens to parking spaces and garages, from meeting rooms to sports fields there’s space out there that’s just waiting to be used. The unloved garden becomes an allotment; the spare shed a useful bike-store, the empty meeting room a vital meeting place for a charity- but how? Currently there’s no user friendly online forum to connect people and space which is where Space@Mine comes in….. Space@Mine will use IE8 technology as it connects Space Searchers and Space Sellers. Use Bing maps to pinpoint space in your local community and look at videos and photos of the space you’re interested in as well as user reviews without your browser crashing. Space@Mine is a win win solution for you and your community. You solve your space problem and your local area benefits as people of different ages interact together building trust and community spirit. What’s more charities will benefit directly as businesses show commitment to their communities by offering space for free. If I won the £10,000 I’d start with pilot in my local area and as it’s an online solution Space@Mine could soon be helping people connect with space across the entire UK.
